Our Purpose

Our Nurture initiative promotes the optimal physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of children from prenatal to age five to influence health and well-being across the lifespan. We support positive relationships and early experiences that set children on the pathway to thrive.

Fostering nurturing, responsive parenting and caregiving;
Advancing perinatal health and well-being;
Building collaboration within pediatric care settings and between early childhood systems;
Amplifying family voice and leadership in early childhood programs, policies, and systems.

Nurture Grantees

Development of a parent and caregiver-led grantmaking process in support of early childhood organizing

Implementation and evaluation of HealthySteps at CHOP Primary Care, Cobbs Creek and advocacy for payment reforms to resource behavioral health integration in pediatric primary care

Legal services and advocacy to improve children’s access to early intervention services and full inclusion in early childhood education

Trauma-informed therapy and support services to promote perinatal well-being and positive birth outcomes

Home visiting services for families with children from 16 months to four years old to stimulate parent-child interaction and develop children’s language, early literacy, and social-emotional skills

A guaranteed income pilot to promote perinatal and early childhood health and well-being and to address racial disparities in infant mortality (Philadelphia City Fund is the fiscal agent)
