Strategic Initiatives
Our Purpose
Our strategic initiatives focus on advancing equity in health and early childhood health and development in Philadelphia. We collaborate with nonprofit organizations, community partners, and cross-sector stakeholders working to:
- Nurture – promote optimal physical, cognitive, and social-emotional development of children from prenatal to age five.
- Connect – improve access to responsive and equitable care and services to address disparities in health and well-being.
- Advocate – advance policy, systems, and structural change to achieve equity in health.
- Lead – build the capacity of the nonprofit and health and human service sectors for racial justice and diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Our Practice
Our grantmaking and advocacy are informed by ongoing engagement and analysis to understand local assets and challenges and to apply knowledge gained from research, practice, and community experience. Our approach is anchored in defining what we hope to achieve, assessing progress toward our goals, and evolving our approach over time in collaboration with our grantees and partners. We award grants aligned with our Nurture, Connect, Advocate, and Lead priorities and do not currently have an open Request for Proposals process.
