2024 Grant Awards

Philadelphia Health Partnership focuses on advancing equity in health and early childhood health and development. From January to September 2024, we awarded $987,063 in grants to nineteen organizations working to nurture, connect, advocate, and lead.

NURTURE

PROMOTING THE OPTIMAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN FROM PRENATAL TO AGE FIVE TO INFLUENCE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING ACROSS THE LIFESPAN

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP)

$81,463 in support of implementation and evaluation of HealthySteps at CHOP Primary Care, Cobbs Creek and advocacy for payment reforms to resource behavioral health integration in pediatric primary care.

Education Law Center

$50,000 in support of legal services and advocacy to improve children’s access to early intervention services and full inclusion in early childhood education.

ParentChild+

$50,000 in support of home visiting services for families with children from 16 months to four years old to stimulate parent-child interaction and develop children’s language, early literacy, and social-emotional skills.

Philly Joy Bank

$50,000 in support of a guaranteed income pilot to promote perinatal and early childhood health and well-being and to address racial disparities in infant mortality. The Philadelphia City Fund serves as the fiscal sponsor.

$30,000 in support of bilingual case management, family advocacy, and educational support services for children and youth with disabilities and their parents/caregivers.

Legal Clinic for the Disabled

$20,000 in support of organization leadership transition and capacity to enhance data systems.

ADVOCATE

ADVANCING POLICY, SYSTEMS, AND STRUCTURAL CHANGE TO ACHIEVE EQUITY IN HEALTH

AccessMatters

$50,000 in support of protecting and expanding access to sexual and reproductive health care, family planning services, and comprehensive sex education.

Children First

$65,000 in support of improving children’s access to health insurance and care, reducing childhood lead poisoning, and expanding availability of quality, equitable child care and early intervention services.

Early Intervention Part C (Infant Toddler) Work Group of Thriving Pa

$175,000 in support of statewide collaboration to improve the Pennsylvania Infant Toddler Early Intervention system with a focus on outreach, referral, enrollment; quality services; equitable access; mental health; and Medicaid partnerships. Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children serves as the fiscal agent.

Pennsylvania Health Access Network

$75,000 in support of promoting access to quality, equitable, and affordable health care and providing health insurance enrollment and navigation services.

Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children

$75,000 in support of improving access to quality, equitable child and perinatal health care and services including health insurance, child care, early intervention services, and home visiting services.

Pennsylvania Voice

$100,000 in support of organizational capacity for engaging nonprofit partners to expand civic participation, make voting easier, and secure equitable representation in government.

African Family Health Organization

$5,000 in support of participation in the Economy League 2024 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange (GPLEX).

Build Our Lives Together (PhillyBOLT) 

$40,000 in support of work to cultivate, support, and empower grassroots leaders to drive community-led change.

Economy League of Greater Philadelphia

$15,600 in support of the 2024 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange Scholarship Fund.

Oshun Family Center

$5,000 in support of participation in the Economy League 2024 Greater Philadelphia Leadership Exchange (GPLEX).

United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

$25,000 in support of the Center for Leadership Equity’s public launch and programs including the provision of culturally competent professional development resources for Black nonprofit leaders.

United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

$25,000 in support of collaboration by local funders to create an actionable, multi-year plan for coordinated nonprofit capacity building across the region. The United Way serves as the fiscal agent.

The Village of Arts and Humanities

$45,000 in support of leadership programs that prepare young people to enter the workforce and postsecondary education as self-determined creative problem solvers and social innovators.
