2024 Grant Awards
Philadelphia Health Partnership focuses on advancing equity in health and early childhood health and development. From January to June 2024, we awarded $615,000 in grants to nine organizations working to nurture, connect, advocate, and lead.
NURTURE
PROMOTING THE OPTIMAL DEVELOPMENT OF CHILDREN FROM PRENATAL TO AGE FIVE TO INFLUENCE HEALTH AND WELL-BEING ACROSS THE LIFESPAN
$50,000 in support of legal services and advocacy to improve children’s access to early intervention services and full inclusion in early childhood education.
$50,000 in support of home visiting services for families with children from 16 months to four years old to stimulate parent-child interaction and develop children’s language, early literacy, and social-emotional skills.
CONNECT
IMPROVING ACCESS TO EQUITABLE CARE AND SERVICES TO ADDRESS DISPARITIES IN HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
HUNE (Hispanos Unidos para Niños Excepcionales)
$30,000 in support of bilingual case management, family advocacy, and educational support services for children and youth with disabilities and their parents/caregivers.
$20,000 in support of organization leadership transition and capacity to enhance data systems.
ADVOCATE
ADVANCING POLICY, SYSTEMS, AND STRUCTURAL CHANGE TO ACHIEVE EQUITY IN HEALTH
$65,000 in support of improving children’s access to health insurance and care, reducing childhood lead poisoning, and expanding availability of quality, equitable child care and early intervention services.
Early Intervention Part C (Infant Toddler) Work Group of Thriving Pa
$175,000 in support of statewide collaboration to improve the Pennsylvania Infant Toddler Early Intervention system with a focus on outreach, referral, enrollment; quality services; equitable access; mental health; and Medicaid partnerships. Pennsylvania Association for the Education of Young Children serves as the fiscal agent.
Pennsylvania Partnerships for Children
$75,000 in support of improving access to quality, equitable child and perinatal health care and services including health insurance, child care, early intervention services, and home visiting services.
$100,000 in support of organizational capacity for engaging nonprofit partners to expand civic participation, make voting easier, and secure equitable representation in government.
LEAD
BUILDING THE CAPACITY OF THE HEALTH AND HUMAN SECTORS FOR RACIAL JUSTICE AND DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION
United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey
$25,000 in support of the Center for Leadership Equity’s public launch and programs including the provision of culturally competent professional development resources for Black nonprofit leaders.
United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey
$25,000 in support of collaboration by local funders to create an actionable, multi-year plan for coordinated nonprofit capacity building across the region. The United Way serves as the fiscal agent.
